The clasp makes the difference
Our company - J. Koehle - specialises in the production of clasps for cultured pearl necklaces and enjoys an excellent reputation around the world thanks to the quality of these clasps. All standard clasps are available from us in aesthetic and functional perfection: Simple closures as well as clasps that add a decorative element to a piece of jewellery and also technically sophisticated clasps.
In 2009, we launched two new product lines – our popular palladium clasps and our practical magnetic clasps.The use of palladium in combination with silver or gold does not only produce a refined technical solution, but also a very exciting blend of materials. It is its special colouring that makes palladium so endearing. Its key advantage over other materials is its prolonged tarnish resistance.
Magnetic clasps
have emerged on the market as absolute best sellers in recent years.
Simply turning or pushing the two magnetic components apart allows the
wearer to easily open the clasp.Moreover, magnetic clasps are said to have inherent healing powers. Jewellery fans are definitely drawn to the mere beauty of these clasps like magic.
Among the most important types of clasps these days are replacement clasps or interchangeable clasps.
The solution itself was developed more than 30 years ago by a German
named Joerg Heinz. Two systems dominate the world markets today: Snapfix, which is a Koehle brand and an exchange system with a balltype.
Koehle utilises the latter as well. It is easy to integrate, ensures
comfortable handling and is a beauty to look at. All of Koehle’s
exchangeable clasps boast these attributes.Clasps made using the pressing method are very popular and available in numerous designs. The
predominant type is the ball clasps, which is
available in sizes ranging from 6 mm to 20 mm. Wide selections of
clasps that have the same embellishments on the both sides are also
available. Bracelet clasps are frequently made using the pressing methods
for functional reasons and because they can be made with larger
surfaces. In addition to functional benefits (high precision and
extreme resistance to wear and tear), they also offer the advantage of
requiring only a relatively thin layer for gold plating considering the
fact that the price of gold is constantly rising. The prices of these
pressed clasps remain stable even as the gold price rises. As a result,
the prices of pressed clasps do not go up a lot even if the gold price
goes up tremendously.Another key design in our clasp assortment is the die casted clasp. These models are a lot heavier than conventional clasps and frequently sport diamonds.
White gold clasps
have made great headway in this segment in recent years. In combination
with diamonds they sustain high values for a long time. Another popular
type of clasp is the snap spring clasp. At Koehle we offer a variety of these solutions in the form of decorative clasps.Koehle launched its series of crocodile clasps in 2009. This is a simple clasp
that emulates the spring system used in
clothes pins. The tight lock of these clasps will convince every

We are taking a novel approach to the design of premium quality ear stud fixtures. Our newly designed fixtures are even sturdier and even more comfortable when used in combination with our studs.

Palladium is a remarkable precious metal, which now is also used by the clasp specialist Köhle, Germany, for a new series of two-tone clasps.
